The Ayers Rock Resort is situated XX kilometres from Erldunda at the junction of the Stuart and Lasseter Highways, 20 kilometres from Uluru and 40 kilometres from Kata Tjuta.
To camp here on a powered site cost us $55 dollars a night. Drinking water is also available from your site.
The resort has everything you need. There is an IGA supermarket that is open from 8am to 9pm seven days a week. There are also a number of specialty shops - a post office, newsagency and souvenir , clothing store, and a gift shop. The resort also has an onsite petrol station had if you shop at IGA you get five cents per litre off the pump price. Given the cost of fuel here, that is quite handy.
Thursday the 18th of July was the 30th anniversary of the opening of the campground at the resort. They had billy tea and danishes, a sausage sizzle, face painting and entertainment.
The resort has a lookout with lenses which you can use to view Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The views at sunrise and at sunset are quite something to see.
